Australian Health Design Council is delighted to announce the award of our Inaugural Design for Health Scholarship to Katharina Nieberler-Walker for her PhD studies on the topic of Therapeutic Hospital Gardens. Katharina is a PhD Scholar at Griffith University, a registered landscape architect and director of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA). Her research explores the central question, ‘How can therapeutic hospital gardens be purposefully designed, evidence-based and well-integrated into health policy and hospital programs to optimise their health promoting qualities?’
The quality of applications received was excellent and we would like to encourage all current and potential students to look forward to the next scholarship opportunity in 2023.
