Charles is a Fellow in both the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and the American College of Healthcare Architects (FACHA). In 2011, he was also named Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). He is the only architect to receive such recognition from a medical society, college, or academy in the United States.
