About me
Peter is currently a Principal with Deloitte with a focus on planning and delivering Health Infrastructure.
Peter was formally the Director, Capital Program for the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia. The new WCH is currently in the early stages of planning and will be built next to the recently completed new Royal Adelaide Hospital. The new WCH comprises of: obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric and neonatal services. The new WCH is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Profession
Peter has a nursing background, with nearly 20 years of clinical experience in acute care, specialising mental health care, which included managing adult acute mental health unit for 8 years. Post graduate education has included a Master of Science (Public Health) by research thesis titled: “The Experience Of People With Mental Illness When Dealing With The Police’, which was significant issue in the 1990s. More recently he completed a Masters of Business Administration (University of Adelaide) in 2017.
Experience
He has over 15 years managing capital projects and being part of project management teams. This experience includes being involved in a number of projects from end to end: from service planning through submissions for funding and approval, through the construction phase and the completion and commissioning phase. Projects undertaken and completed include: acute inpatient mental health units, community based mental health facilities; acute intensive care unit; the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute. He also had 5 years’ experience on the new Royal Adelaide Hospital project, with a specific focus on large and complex medical equipment.
Vision Statement
Peter views the development of health capital facilities as a key enabler of health care. As such he has a strong interest in health service planning and the development of patient-centred models of care, which present both a challenge and opportunity to the design and delivery of new health facilities.
