About me
Kate has been Executive Director at Metro North Health since 2016. In this time she has accumulated portfolios, commencing with Assets and Infrastructure.
Her role now includes:
Strategy & Planning for a large Hospital and Health Service, with a catchment of 1 million population and a range of statewide services,
leadership of Infrastructure planning and delivery including the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment, and
Strategic Developments, including leadership for MN32 - our roadmap to the future, and corporate governance and business support to the research and development Institutes.
Kate is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor with Griffith University, and a visiting lecturer with Queensland University of Technology, and has previously been an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with University of Queensland.
Kate has been active in the planning, procurement and delivery of capital projects since 1996, with specific responsibility for healthcare projects undertaken in Brisbane (1996-2002) and for major hospital developments undertaken in Queensland (2007 – 2012). These included initiation, resourcing and planning for the Gold Coast University Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Hospital, together with Cairns Base Hospital, and Mackay Base Hospital. This later expanded to include all health projects across northern Queensland including Townsville Hospital and Rockhampton Hospital, as well as multiple health facility projects across the large geographical area of North and Far North Queensland.
Kate is currently Chair for the Australian Health Design Council (AHDC), a Past President of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM), an active member of ACHSM Queensland Branch Council, and an associate of European Health Design Council and the International Academy for Design and Health.
